Gift for Metsat6ll

Description

SO I messed with the contrasts so the picture would be actually visible. I'm sorry I don't have it in better quality since I barely finished it in time for the concert. So we snapped a quick pic while standing there.

The story behind this is that a day before my birthday I had decided (since most of my friends ignored when I wanted to plan with them) that me and Hanna would go to Metsatöll's concert. It's an epic Estonian folkmetal band. I've seen some free concerts a few times. This time, a day before my birthday, 1st of August, they were going to have a concert at Põltsamaa castle yard (yeah, exactly where the ruins were, that I went to explore illegaly). My grandma was on skype when I first saw the concert notification, and since most of my friends ignored me for the moment anyway, I decided to go to the concert since I finished work early. Hanna agreed to come as well. We could stay overnight at grandma's then.

So basically I started to work on this the night before the concert.  It took about 45 minutes per portrait. I finished the first before mum sent me to sleep because I had to get up at 6AM. I really wanted to give something back after having a concert that made me feel so damn happy and good. People said II can do it next time, not stress about barely making it. I was like "NO. I NEED to do it for THIS time." So after work I finished the second portrait. On the bus to Põltsamaa the third and at grandma's the last one just in time for the concert.

We went there and luckily they came up a tad later, giving me the opportunity to take a pic of this. Albeit low quality. I just hoped that maybe I can have the opportunity to give it to them.
So the concert started, the crowd was far more responsive than in Tallinn, so after 2 songs everyone finally closened to the stage. Now something happened that I did not expect. They asked for 4 girsl to volunteer to sing "Oma laul" with them. I'm sure 99.9% of Estonians know the song. So I was like, I'm a girl, I can sing a bit. I raised my hand up high and I was instantly pulled onto the stage. Turns out I was the only one not reluctant at first.

My eyes widened because the crowd was huuuge, last time I saw it the castle yard was half empty (being in the front rows and all). The crowd was singing along so wholeheartedly our voices didn't even reach out from the speakers. But we still had a lot of fun, headbanging with them and all and it was seriously a dream come true already. Best birthday ever.

After the concert they said they'd be by the tent so I waited until most of the fans got their autographs (I got mine from the previous concert) and then I approached them and told them I wanted to give them a gift. They were so taken aback and happy about it, I wouldn't have expected them to react so positively. So that made me sosososo happy. They also asked me to write my full name behind the picture!

For once I used my skills practically and I really wanted to give back something to them for giving such epic concerts. i succeeded. I asked them if I could take a pic with them and they were like "Ofc. Ofc!" They were also very satisfied with the concert, so they promised to come there again if the opportunity arises!

Best. Day. In. My. Life.
Compensated for every bad or uncelebrated birthday I've ever had.
